[Leish-l] L.donovani in dogs?

Dear All,
I agree with  Katakura that if new technologies are applied new reservoirs can be found.  In India it is taught that no animal reservoir exists. But we when we applied rK39 and PCR technologies we found a significant number of goats positive for anti-rK39 antibodies and by PCR. However, none of the 3 dogs tested was seropositive. Hence no finding can be ignored.
Please see attached publication on goat as reservoir of Leishmania dononovani in India.
