This exact vaccine is on the market. However, there are still a lot of controversies related to its use.

Subject: [leish-l] Vaccines for canine leishmaniasis

Can anyone please tell me if a vaccine against canine leishmaniasis (CanL) is on the market in Brazil (or elsewhere)? When I was last in Brazil, the commercial firm Fort Dodge (of the USA) was about to put one on the market in Brazil, but I don't know if they did. (This vaccine is the one published by Oliveira da Sila et al. (2001). Vaccine, 19: 1082-1092). I have e-mailed Fort Dosge and asked them this question, but they did not reply (nice people!) Is it on the market? If so, what is it called? Price? Frequency of boosters? And any opinions of its efficacy? Many thanks for any information on any CanL vaccine on any market.
