construted, many years ago, with funds obtained by the Leishmaniase Section
of the Department. For many years, the Phlebotomine insectary and Laboratory
have been part of the Entomology Section, with Paul Willimas resposible. The
whole of the entomology Section was poorly planned. Due to lack of adequate
ventilation, the greatest difficulties are due to Fungi. Modi´s magic
mixtore cannot be prepared and our Longipalpis larvae are ill fed.
Investigations using Laboratory-prepared Longipalpis are totally independent
of the Leishmania Section."
