[Leish-l] Status of PCR for CL diagnosis

Dear Hugo,
You have received several very good answers. Although microscopy remains as
the standard procedure, I think by availability, there is a consensus that
PCR offers advantages for diagnosis and parasite identification genus and
subgenus and not necessarily just in case of chronic cases of LC. Here in
southern Mexico an endemic area of LC by* L. mexicana* we are using mostly
PCR. Isolation-culture are useful for parasitological studies.
