Dear Jeff,

I read the abstract in Chinese about the VL case reported in Hebei, China
(near Beijing). The patient is a 9 years old girl. She traveled with her
family to the VL-endemic site in the northwestern provice of Gansu. It is
thought to be an imported case, since VL has been eliminated in Beijing
area in 1958, as stated in that article. Whether sylvatic cycle of CVL
still exists in the suburb hilly area is unknown.

Happy holidays !

KP
