Dear Jeff and colleagues,

This is very sad news. The first time I met Professor Killick-Kendrick was
in 2003. At that time, I was an undergraduate student attending a veterinary
congress in Minas Gerais, Brazil. He delivered a comprehensive talk,
sharing with us important insights into bio-ecology of sand fly and
epidemiology of leishmaniasis. Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting him
twice, including in the last WL in India. Unfortunately, I did not have a
chance to work with him directly, but his contributions to science already
taught me a lot. As a young leishmaniac, I will always have his studies as a
source of inspiration and learning.

My sincere condolences to his wife.

All the best,
Filipe
