Parasites are highly sugestive of Toxoplasma. Why don't you try to isolate
the parasite? Bone marrow aspirate could be inoculated intraperitoneally in
mice. The peritonaeal fluid becomes positive in 6 to 10 days. This
procedure should be done as soon as possible or specimens stored overnight
at 4oC until inoculation. It should not be frozen or placed in formalin
because it kills the parasites. It is also important to know the patient's
sorological condition for HIV.
