A microsatellite analysis of Sicilian VL isolates form man and dogs by Castillo et al (doi:10.1371/journal.pntd.0008465) showed that the dog isolates formed one group and those from man another. So, my question is - How do we interpret these results? Are there separate cycles in man and dogs or do those from man come from somewhere else?

Like to know what you think about this. I must admit I am a little confused by these results.
