Dear All,

I agree with Dick Ashford that, since L. infantum MON-1 is the same creature
as L. chagasi, we should use a single species name. 
But I have 2 queries:
Q1: Isn't it likely that any clinical/epidemiological differences across the
Atlantic are due to the vector (and/or reservoirs) being different - rather
than L. infantum behaving differently to L.chagasi?
Q2: Is Viannia still a valid name?
