KISs 2002: The Kinetoplast Internet Symposium for 2002
 From Thursday February 14th to Satuday 17th 2002

The symposium heralds the launch of the new Journal  "Kinetoplastid 
Biology and Disease"

Both symposium and journal are aimed as conduits to promote 
discussion between research and applications.

This year's presentations will include:

W de Souza
 From the Cell Biology to the Development of new Chemotherapeutic 
Approaches against Trypanosomatids: Dreams and Reality.

K P Chang
Leishmania infection- and pathoantigenic determinants in virulence: Their
potential for differential targeting by molecular genetic approaches to control
leishmaniasis.

J C P Dias and C J Schofield
American Trypanosomiasis Control after the different intervention 
levels: current situation and perspectives.

S Aksoy, Z Hao and P M Strickler
What can we hope to gain for trypanosomiasis control from molecular studies
on tsetse biology ?


We take this opportunity to encourage submission of additional 
posters for inclusion in the symposium. The posters submitted may be 
published as short papers in Kinetoplastid Biology and Disease 
subject to review and the authors consent. Deadline for submission of 
posters is Friday,  February 1.
