With regard to the statement "In Phillippe Desjeux's meeting report
("Leishmania/HIV co-infection" -WHO/LEISH/95.35 he cites on page 7: 15
CL-DCL/HIV+ cases from Ethiopia, 10 CL/HIV+ (some must have been anergic
DCL) from Kenya, and one CL/HIV+ from Malawi"  by Dr Robert N Davidson, I
think that before concluding that it is L. major that is being sited as
CL-DCL/HIV+ in Ethiopia, isoenzyme data (or the like) must be available
since L. major is nt common in Ethiopia whilst of course L. aethiopica
which is known to induce DCL is the most common cause of cutaneous
leishmaniasis in this country.
