<div style="font-size:16px;font-style:normal;background-color:transparent;font-family:times new roman,new york,times,serif"><span>To continue the discussion of animal reservoirs in the Indian subcontinent, it is not known so far the existence of any animal reservoirs in this region. However, several attempts were  already done to understand the role of animals in disease epidemiology. A snapshot study was conducted under the framework of <span>KALANET</span> project in Nepal (the first known study in Nepal) where large number of domestic animals (goats) were found to have <span>Leishmania</span> DNA (by <span>PCR</span>) and antibody (by  DAT). These findings were already published in Parasitology and Emerging infectious Diseases but it was not looked in dogs as most of the
 dogs were street dogs in our study set up which donot indeed exclude their possibility as reservoirs. I think that more studies are definitely required in the whole region to understand the role of animals to ahceive the goal of running elimination programme. This should be further topics for comprehensive research as well.</span></div>
