> Announcement The Laboratory of Biotechnology at the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense (UENF), Campos, RJ, Brazil, has inmediate openings for two (2) positions at the Associate Research level although more senior candidates will be considered. Our research interest focus on the development and production of immunoprophylactics and immunotherapics in transgenic plants, animals and microbes. Specific areas of research include but are not limited to: expression of protozoan antigens in plants for use as edible vaccines against parasitic tropical diseases, production of transgenic plants resistant to nematode-induced disease, or to environmental stress. The Laboratory of Biotechnology is a Division of the Center of Bioscience and Biotechnology where faculty use an array of state-of-the-art cellular and molecular approaches including: a full range of techniques in protein chemistry and sequencing, immunology, transmission, scanning and confocal microscopy, citometry and routine molecular biology. Posts are for two (2) years, and renewable upon internal avaliation. Stipends will range from US$ 2600 to US$ 3100 (payed in Brazilian currency)depending on experience. Funding is institutional.
