Geane Oliveira posted a link to an announcement that said ?Agriculture approves the compulsory free vaccination of animals against leishmaniasis  [Agricultura aprova vacina??o obrigat?ria e de gra?a contra leishmaniose animal]

The title is misleading and was taken from an news article of the Brazilian Chambers of Deputies that refers to the proposal of a law for the free vaccination of animals against leishmaniasis. Before becoming law, this proposal must be approved by different commissions and then by the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies and then by the Senate. Once approved the relevant ministry is not obliged to act and would do so only on the availability of an efficient vaccine and funds for the vaccination program.

Before starting such a program, the results of clinical trials and a strong
cost-benefit should show the efficacy, if the vaccine prevents the
appearance of clinical symptoms or postpone the symptoms then by
vaccination more infected animals without symptoms are available for sand
fly bite (more reservoir animals).
