I sure hope the soldiers understand if they bring any dogs back they may
carry the disease, my dog had Visceral and although we don't know where
he came from - we adopted him from a local rescue group in Georgia, we
think maybe he came from another country...our other dog did not get it
nor any member of our family.
The disease is horrible- we were able to treat him for about 3 years
with some special meds but they are not available to the general public,
he eventually passed away due to kidney failure but it was a
complication of the disease.
They sort of make light of the disease in this article it is horrific.
I sure hope they educate the soldiers on how bad it is and that there is
no cure for it.
