Last week the Dutch newspaper "De Telegraaf" reported that in
Afganistan now more than 90 Dutch marines have become infected with
a bug which is transmitted by sandflies. Almost the complete ward of
the Tropical Diseases Unit of the AMC hospital in Amsterdam is being
occupied by troops who are treated for cutaneous leishmaniasis.
