TriTryp Genomes
13-16 September 2004
Seattle, WA USA

You are invited to attend a landmark meeting that marks the completion of the first draft of the Trypanosoma brucei, Trypanosoma cruzi, and Leishmania major genome sequencing projects. Attendance at this open meeting is anticipated to include researchers who generated and annotated the genome sequences, those who have used the genome sequence information extensively, those who are interested in the future applications of the genomic information, including representatives of funding agencies. The meeting format is designed to provide an opportunity for researchers to share their results and stimulate new directions for the field - directions intended to accelerate the development of measures to combat the diseases caused by these pathogens.

Sessions that characterize the extensive new data, its significance, and potential for alleviating disease will include:

*	Characteristics of the genomes of T. brucei, T. cruzi, and L. major.

*	Comparisons among these and other trypanosomatid genomes.

*	Protein function predictions.

*	Molecular pathways including replication, transcription, translation.

*	Dynamic processes such as metabolism and transport.

*	Regulatory processes such as signal transduction and molecular turnover.

*	Life cycle development.

*	Host interaction and pathogenesis.

*	Opportunities for drug, vaccine, and diagnostic development.

Suggestions for session topics and presentation formats beyond platform and posters are welcome and may be sent to TriTryp04 at sbri.org and will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee.

Participation may be limited! Financial assistance such as for participants from developing countries is anticipated. Information regarding costs, accommodations and agenda will be announced soon. Further information on this landmark meeting, on-line registration, accommodations, as well as Seattle visitor information, will soon be available at www.sbri.org <http://www.sbri.org/TriTryp04> /TriTryp04 .
