I know the risks of treating dogs in endemic areas. Vets in Europe try to
improve the treatment of dogs (use of antimonials associated with
allopurinol and allopurinol during maintainance treatment, use of ampho B,
follow up of dogs with PCR....) without any risk for humans. The situation of
each country is different, collars or external drugs such as permethrins
prevent the transmission of the disease, human leish is not as frequent in
France than in india or Brazil and so on....My question was about the risk
of embryotoxicity or abortion with the drugs.
