Position available in Brussels

A post-doctoral position is available in the

Christian de Duve Institute of Cellular Pathology (ICP),
Biochemistry Laboratory of the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL),
Brussels, Belgium.

A postdoctoral position could be made available for a non-Belgian
citizen in the Research Unit for Tropical Diseases (Drs Paul Michels
and Fred Opperdoes) of the ICP. The successful candidate will be
involved in an ongoing project on the control analysis of glycolysis in
trypanosomes. This project is being carried out in collaboration with
Dr Hans Westerhoff of the Free University of Amsterdam.
The position is open to a post-doctoral scientist trained in
biochemistry and/or molecular biology, and who should preferably have
also an interest in biomathematics. Most of the work will be performed
in the Brussels' laboratory, with likely some work periods in the
laboratory in Amsterdam.

ICP rules imply that fellowship candidates from an EU member
state should not be older than 33 years of age, in which case the
position will be available for a period of two years. National
legislation implies that citizens from a non-EU member state should not
be older than 29 years, in which case the position is available for 18
months.
