To mark the Molteno's 75th birthday we are planning to create a Molteno
Home Page on the WWW which will list everybody who has worked in the
Molteno for the past 75 years, by the year they started work in the
laboratories.

Below is an example of the kind of information we would like to have from
any source. Please send any information which you have to Ann Aves,
Microbiology & Parasitology Divisional Secretary, in the Molteno (fax 01223
333334; email aa212 at hermes.cam.ac.uk) or to Dr Douglas C Barker also in the
Molteno (fax 01223 333737; email DCB12 at mole.bio.cam.ac.uk).
1973-96. Barker Douglas C, MA, BSc, PhD. Scientific Staff, MRC
Unit 1973-87. Leader MRC Outstation of NIMR 1987-98.
Interests - Darkfield EM of trypanosome and leishmania DNA,
Crystalline ribosomes of Entamoeba, DNA diagnosis, prognosis
and genome analysis of Leishmania. Fellow of Christ's College
1975 - date. Hon. Sec. RSTMH 1991-date.
We would like to get as many names onto the list as possible by the 28th
November 1996. On the 29th November, being a Friday, two floors of the
Molteno, will be open from 2 -5 p.m. As the Molteno Institute is now part
of the Division of Microbiology & Parasitology, there would also be an
opportunity, that afternoon for those who are interested to speak to and
visit the neighouring Microbiology building, which is located just behind
the main building. Unfortunately the Molteno middle floor is a building
site, as the Nuttall Library has been amalgamated with the main library of
the Department of Pathology and the entire floor is being updated for Dr
Richard Le Page's group. The top and ground floors have already been
updated to modern health and safety standards for Dr David Dunne and Dr
Douglas Barker's groups. Between 5 and 7 p.m. some drinks and snacks will
be served in the canteen in the Department of Pathology. We would like to
welcome any ex-members of the Molteno who would like to join us on that
occasion or would like to send a message by fax or email to be displayed on
a notice board.

Organisers - Dr Douglas C Barker, Susan Arnold and Ann Aves.
Please forward this page to all Parasitologists on all networks.
